Wheldon gets extra race at Kentucky
Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon will take Alex Tagliani's Sam Schmidt Motorsports seat for the Kentucky IndyCar race as a warm-up for his potentially big-money Las Vegas outing. Wheldon will start from the rear of the Vegas grid in a car entered jointly by Schmidt and Bryan Herta Autosport, who collaborated on his Indy 500 programme. If Wheldon comes through the field to take victory the IndyCar finale, he will win $2.5 million and a fan drawn at random will win the same amount
