Renault confident over exhaust effect
Renault technical chief James Allison thinks the team's forward exhaust system will mean it suffers less than its rivals when the ban on off-throttle exhaust blowing comes into effect from Silverstone this weekend. As part of a mid-season rules clarification, teams will no longer be allowed to configure their engines so that exhaust gases continue to flow onto cars' diffusers and floors - helping aerodynamic performance - even when drivers lift off the throttle.
